Soul-stirring vocals and an electric stage presence are only part of what makes April shine. Her boldness, style, and ability to sashay away from the mold also add to her glow. Pulling influence and inspiration from the jazz greats, hip-hop, and sounds from all around the world, April delivers a soulful concoction of music that draws you in and keeps you there.

April’s musical journey began with classical training on the viola. A self-proclaimed “orchestra-dork,” she opted for simultaneously performing in her high school symphony on viola and in the philharmonic orchestra on violin instead of the typical senior-year early dismissal or late arrival. At the collegiate level, April began private studies in fingerstyle Classical Guitar and piano and proudly obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.

As the frontwoman of April B. & The Cool, April captivated audiences with her powerhouse vocals, songwriting capacity, and high-energy, guitar-driven performances. From intimate rooms, to packed out clubs and festival stages, the band left an unforgettable impression wherever they performed.

In addition to her work with April B. & The Cool, April's talents have taken her across the globe as a background vocalist for Funk/Rock pioneers, Mothers Finest– allowing her to share the stage with a legendary band and bring her signature flair to audiences worldwide. Her ability to seamlessly transition between genres and styles has made her a sought-after collaborator in the music industry, with credits ranging from studio recordings with chart topping artists to live performances with many of her personal music heroes.

When she's not on tour with Mothers Finest or rocking out with her own musical projects, April can often be found cutting up with crowds as a piano man– ehh woman. Piano lady. Whatever you call it, she’s showcasing her versatility as a vocalist, pianist and a (very) part time comedian. Whether belting out a soulful ballad or making the crowd move and sing along to piano bar staples, April's passion for music shines through in every performance.
